By using the Remain service — including creating an AI companion, chatting with it, or accessing any part of the platform — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
Remain provides an AI companion platform. Through a brief intake ("birth reading"), users create a unique companion with a distinct name and personality. The companion retains memories across sessions, responds conversationally, and supports voice interaction. Some features require a paid subscription.
3. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your access credentials and companion link confidential
- Ensuring your use of the service complies with these terms
- Being at least 13 years of age to use Remain
4. Subscription Terms
Remain offers a free tier with up to 50 messages per month. A premium subscription is available for $9.99/month, billed monthly. Key terms:
- Subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled
- You may cancel anytime through your account management page
- No refunds are provided for partial months
- Price may change with 30 days' notice prior to renewal
5. Content Ownership
You retain full ownership of all data you share with your companion, including memories, photos, stories, and personal information. Remain does not claim any ownership over user-generated content. Your companion data is stored securely and may be deleted upon account request.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Remain to:
- Generate or share illegal, harmful, or offensive content
- Impersonate others or create companions that falsely represent real persons
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users or AI companions
- Attempt to interfere with or compromise the integrity of the service
7. Limitation of Liability
The Remain service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, availability, or suitability of the service for your specific needs. In no event shall Remain or its operators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
